Manual .dll Installation

If you wish to have full control over the deployment process and if you know how to deploy a SSIS DLL library, you can simply download the .dll.

  • Download the DLL and locate the MSSQL installation path.
  • Navigate to the <MSSQLPATH>\XXX\DTS\PipelineComponents, where XXX identifies the MSSQL version of interest (for instance, MSSQL 2014 is mapped to 120, MSSQL 2012 to 110, and MSSQL 2008 is mapped to 100).
  • Paste inside that folder a copy of the dll
  • Run Visual Studio GACUTIL utility to register the same .DLL to the Global Assembly Cache (for example gacutil /i /f JSONSource.dll).
  • If you don't have the Newtonsoft.json dll mapped on your gac, you should map that as well.

To remove the software, simply remove the dll you've copied and uninstall them from the GAC.
